Do You Trust God with Your Marriage?

Trust.

Faith.

Surrender.

These 3 words sound nice in theory, but the reality is, they are so hard to put into practice, especially when it comes to marriage, more specifically, following your husband’s leadership.

Do You Trust God with Your Marriage?

One wife wrote in sharing her struggles….

I have a very difficult time being submissive… and I feel very helpless because I don’t know how to change to put my husband’s needs first. I also have a very difficult time with God.  Could you help me with this?

Since most wives love to have control and because it’s difficult to exercise your faith in God, in this video I share how you can trust God with your marriage.

There are 4 areas I discuss:

Walk in Him.

Follow Christ wholeheartedly with your life.  Immerse yourself in the things of the Lord.  Spend time reading the Word, praying, and being in fellowship with other Believers.  All of these things will strengthen your walk with Christ, which will in turn help you to trust in Him.

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.  Col. 2:6

Don’t Be Deceived.

The World is quick to tell Believers that we don’t know how to live…but the World is DEAD wrong!  Stand firm on the Word of God and don’t let anyone influence you otherwise.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.  Col. 2:8

You’re Complete in Him.

Again, the World will tell you you’re an idiot for submitting to your husband and they may even suggest that you’re some kind of second-class citizen.  Well, I’ve got news for them…they are wrong, again!  You are fully complete in Jesus Christ. You are no less of a human being because you submit to your husband, you are merely living out a different role, a role that is God-ordained and one that brings Christ glory.  I happen to believe that that is one pretty fabulous role if you happen to ask me!

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.  Col. 2:9-10

Do All in the Name of the Lord.

Don’t make your marriage about you, make it about the Lord.  So what does this mean practically?  You’ll need to bring your emotions under control and base your life upon the Word of God.  This is something you’ll have to do on a daily basis!

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatever you do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Col. 3:16,17
