How to make homemade yogurt (two ways)!
I started making homemade yogurt a few years ago and it’s so easy! I was getting frustrated trying to find whole fat organic yogurt with live probiotics and NO sugar added…that didn’t break the bank.
So I started making it myself and it’s so easy! There are a lot of different ways to make yogurt. Here’s a compilation of Instagram stories I did a few years ago on two different ways to make yogurt (and how easy it can be).
There are a lot of varieties of this. In most cases, you buy one starter and can make yogurt over and over again. You can also use a store bought (has to be truly live cultures in it) yogurt as a starter as well. You can also easily make raw milk yogurt which I started doing as well shortly after this.

My personal favorite cultures to use are From Cultures for Health. You can get many of my favorites right from Azure Standard:
- Cultures for Health, heirloom varity
- Cultures for Health, greek yogurt
- Cultures for Health, traditional flavor
- Cultures for Health, bulgarian (this is what I used in the video)
- Cultures for Health, mild flavor
You can also find their cultures from their website. And Thrive Market also carries their traditional yogurt starter (I love ordering from Thrive for all those smaller things I can’t get from Azure. Like my favorite sugar free ketchup and things.)
I also love making Kefir which you make in a similar way!
