Our Trim Healthy Mama Plan for November
I have been a fan of Trim Healthy Mama for several years now. I first got the book and read through this plan back when my first set of twins were born.
I loved it and at the time, Trim Healthy Mama was my #1 resource I recommended to women who wanted to learn more about healthy eating (especially if you are new to the whole real food journey). But I’ll be honest, this almost 700 page self-published book is daunting.
It’s huge, it’s not organized well, and there are NO pictures (which is a huge turn off to me in a cookbook). But it’s still had a special place on my cookbook book shelf. But I’ll be honest, I haven’t got it out or opened it up in a while…
My second set of twins are now 3 months old and I’ve got the last of this baby weight clinging on. It’s stubborn and Jason and I both decided we would commit to a few months of really trying to work on losing weight together. We decided we would do a few months of Whole30 since they had a nice handy new book that came out – but the Whole30 is NOT an easy meal plan to follow (especially when you have 4 kids under 3 years old).
Trim Healthy Mama came out with two brand new books. This time around they are beautifully designed, published, edited, expanded, and contains tons of FULL color pictures of the recipes!!!
So now, Jason and I are committing to follow Trim Healthy Mama during the month of November. And then we will go from there. But I am beyond excited to have these brand new books that will make it so much easier.
Currently I’m reading through The Trim Healthy Mama Plan. This is a lot of the same information that’s covered in the original book, but it’s been almost 3 years since I’ve read it so it’s been good to cover it again.
And then I’m starting to go through The Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook and select meals (like the mufflets on page 237 and thm pancakes on page 259) that I can start making now and freeze to help set us up for success in November!
What is Trim Healthy Mama?
So are you curious what exactly Trim Healthy Mama is? It’s s diet plan made by sisters Serene and Pearl. It’s focused on whole, natural foods and cooking healthy meals for your family from scratch without spending too much time or money in the process.
It’s a diet plan that is designed for busy moms and even gives guidelines and tips for pregnant and nursing mamas to stay healthy!
The plan book gives so many amazing details and really helps you to understand how diet and nutrition have an impact on your body. What I Love About THM
1) The Recipes
Trim Healthy Mama relies on healthy, real food that the whole family will eat. Yes, I’ve tried a few recipes that our family didn’t care for, but many more that we love! (And the new cookbook contains over 350 recipes which makes it so easy!)
2) There are not a lot of “rules”
Basically sugar is a big NO and for your meals you try to alternate between S meals (meals which contain healthy fat) and E meals (meals that contain healthy carbs). Once you get the hang of it, it’s actually really easy).
3) You can east dessert!!
The cookbook alone contains 103 recipes under the Sweet Treats category!!! How awesome is that? The plan revolves around eating real food and creating a meal plan that is actually doable to follow. When I can have a treat at night with some coffee, that’s a plan I can follow.
Treats include the super popular chocolate muffin a mug. Yes please!
4) Trim Healthy Mama is EVERYWHERE
If you are looking for more recipes (than the 350 included in the cookbook) then just a quick search on Pinterest or Google will give you hundreds of new recipes and even meal plans already put together FOR YOU!

5) The whole family can follow along
