Scrumptious Snickerdoodles Recipe {Autumn Favorites}

on October 31, 2012 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

This is one of my favorite recipes of all time! These Snickerdooodles are so simple and easy to make. A great recipe to make for a party or for having people over. I love making a batch of these and eating them with a cup of hot tea 🙂

Scrumptious Snickerdoodles Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 Cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

2) In a medium bowl, mix together button, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup brown sugar.

3) Add in 1 egg and vanilla extract and mix.

4) In a separate medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.

5) Add this mixture into the wet ingredients and blend together. Do not overmix!

6) Put this batter in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to solidify.

7) In a small bowl, mix 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon together.

8) With a tablespoon, make small round balls of the dough and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

9) Place balls on an un-greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

10) Bake for about 15 minutes. Watch them carefully to make sure you don’t overcook them. They will be soft still when you take them out but will harden up once out of the oven. They will still be gooey when you first take them out so leave them on the cookie sheet to cool {unless you want to eat a few while they are still hot ;)}.
