She Reads Truth - Bible Study Method

I am the Queen of Excuses.

“I don’t have enough time.”

“I’m not a morning person.”

“I need to go workout instead.”

“I have to cook supper.”

Or clean the house…or take a nap…etc, etc. etc.

There is always something to keep me busy and to use as an excuse as to why I couldn’t have gotten my Bible study time in that day.

A little over a year and a half ago, my husband and I moved to a town for three months while he completed training for his new job.  At the time, I didn’t have a job {the move was temporary}, we didn’t have a church to consider a home, and we definitely didn’t have any friends.  I found that I had a lot of free time on my hands.  At first, it was glorious.  We had both just gotten out of college, and it was our first semester in the “real world.”  I was soaking the time in, because I had previously spent the last four years of my life with my nose stuck in some sort of tax or accounting text book.

But soon after, the “free time” got old.  I was planning my best friend’s bridal shower, but you can only work on DIY projects for so long.  At least I needed a change of scenery every once in a while.  My mom sent me a Bible study DVD series that I completed in the last 7 weeks that we were there.  I had a great outlook on life, and when we moved to St. Louis, I knew what kind of wife I wanted to be.  I loved being in the Word on a daily basis.  I loved having my quiet time with Him each day.

When we were finally in St. Louis, I went through a period of homesickness.  I was five hours away from my family, the farthest I had ever been.  I knew that God was calling me to lean on Him.  During this time of transition, I relied heavily on my Instagram friends for friendship and relationship.  I found She Reads Truth through some of my insta-friends.

I was intrigued.  So I did a little bit of research on She Reads Truth.  What I learned was that this “program” was designed by women for women.  They went through a reading plan that could be found on the You Version Bible app on your smart phone.  So there’s no more excuse of, “Well, I don’t have my Bible with me.”

The Bible Study Method

Each day’s worth of reading doesn’t take more than 30 minutes to get through…of course, you can spend as long as you’d like meditating on God’s Word.  Reading the plans that the ladies of SRT have created has allowed me to be in the Word easier and more often.  Sometimes it’s really hard to figure out where you should start reading in the Bible.  She Reads Truth makes it easy.

Not only do I love the studies that the ladies have created for the readers, I love the online fellowship and connection with each other.  The hashtag #shereadstruth is where you will find all kinds of women who are reading along on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.  Each lady is reading the same thing, and it is fun to see what they each get out of the study.  The She Reads Truth blog also has a discussion going where you will find even more ladies that are participating.

In today’s world where social media is popular, connecting with women across the country is made easy.  I love connecting with women who share the bond of Christ with me.

If you are having a difficult time trying to decide where to start reading or if you’ve never read the Bible at all, I highly encourage you to check out She Reads Truth.  I know that you will be encouraged.
