TTM #18: Homemaking & Morning Sickness – How to manage your home while pregnant

on January 12, 2018 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

Pregnancy (or illness of any kind) can make it hard to get normal homemaking routines done around the house. It’s often a hard time, especially when you mix in morning sickness!

So today I’ve got a mom of 9 with us who is going to share her secrets for running a household while experiencing morning sickness! She’s got some great tips.

Surviving Pregnancy!

Here’s the question that I asked Amy that she answered in the episode:

“One area that has always been tough for me (and for my listeners) has been keeping up on your home when you are pregnant! It’s so so tough to deal with it all while tired and possibly dealing with morning sickness. Do you have any encouragement for the overwhelmed mama or any advice for things that can help?”

I really love her advice to simplify! In the beginning, she talks about us pregnant mamas who try and run at full speed even though we are pregnant. I think we need to remember to focus on the fact that this isn’t normal life, we need to slow down and give ourselves a lot of grace.

My last pregnancy was a surprise so I didn’t have time to plan. But my plan had been, before getting pregnant or at like the 3-5 week mark before the morning sickness really hits, to make a bunch of freezer meals and snacks to get through that first part.

That’s what I am planning on doing for our next pregnancy! With 5 kids already in the home plus being pregnant, this will help tremendously!!!!
